Giant Schnauzer Club Ch Show 22nd October 2023

Accompanied by a fantastic ring staff, I was allowed to evaluate the UK giant exhibits. Overall, the quality of the dogs was pleasing. Typical dogs in the right format were waiting for me. Most were very functionally angled. The correct Schnauzer-typical coat, harsh and with an undercoat, was also found in most cases. Furthermore, as everywhere else, it should not be forgotten that the Giant Schnauzer is a functional dog and should not become too elegant. Gender characteristics and in particular should be visible at a glance.

Being able to judge in England was truly a joy and an honor. The organisation was excellent, for which I would like to thank you again at this point.

MPD: 1. 1st McCabe’s Dayshaun Total Eclipse, 6 months old, developed according to age, head fits to the body, coat in development and wish for better grooming. Head correct details, correct strength of bone, well-angulated rear, straight in shoulder, moves well and according to age. Friendly behaviour, worth further training. BPD & RBPIS

PGD: 2. 1st. Sherborne’s Tyshunde Exclamation Kid, strong male, masculine expression, medium dark eye, head fits to body, strong and in proportion. Good bone, almost square in outline, angles fitting to each other, correct colour, shows himself a bit tired, friendly behaviour.
2nd Dedross’ Adacolm Leningrad, squarely built male high on legs, dog should gain a bit more weight. Correct outlines, correct head and expression, irregular bite, correct croup, tail set and tail. Moves fluently but narrow in rear. Shows well and reacts well to the atmosphere.

LD: 3. 1st Lunt’s Tribune Vom Schloss Ehrenberg at Lourane, excellent male with good square outline and masculine expression. Correct width and depth of chest, dark eyes, correct neck and topline. Good bone according to his body, correct coat structure and colour, long straight metatarsals, moves fluently with correct reach and drive. Nice calm but attentive behaviour. 2nd Adamson’s Here Comes Trouble Radinie to Borderstorm (Imp CZE), squarely built male, good head with correct parallel lines, medium round eyes, correct neck, chest proportions could be better developed, well developed rear angulation. 3rd Healey’s Philoma Rafael, square medium-sized male, head fits to the body, shows himself a bit insecure, enough width and depth of chest, correct black colour, coat could be a bit harsher, good bone according to body, correct length of neck, enough angulated, moves fluently, narrow in rear, and moves happily. Kind behaviour.

Special OD Pepper & Salt D: 2, 1abs. 1st Trafford’s Treuherz Cydney, 4-year-old medium sized male, almost square in outline, nice head with parallel lines, dark eyes, dark mask, correct shape, correct depth and width of chest, good bone according to the body, harsh coat, correct medium pepper salt colour, moves happily, a little soft in back. BP&S in SHOW

OD: 3. 1st Galbraith’s Gloris Glorious with Fostergiants (Imp), male with correct square outline and of medium size, correct head, dark oval eyes, correct width and depth of chest, correct outlines, well angulated, correct coat, colour, and structure, moves fluently, interested behaviour. RDCC. 2nd Cullen’s Philoma Musicman, male of correct size, head fits to body, correct topline, correct position of shoulders, angles fit with each other, well-angulated in front, correct depth of chest, harsh coat and correct colour, friendly behaviour, a little narrow in rear. 3rd Newsham’s Adacolm Scottish Celts, male of correct size, straight back, would like a little more width and depth of chest, very straight in shoulder, correct position of croup and tail set, dark eyes, correct ear set, very slim, coat needs to be more developed and groomed, moves happily, little loose in elbows, open behaviour.

CHAMPION DOG: 2. 1st Parker’s CH Draxpark Fantasticus strong male on upper size, correct head with masculine expression and parallel lines, good clean neck, excellent chest, good bone according to body, moves fluently and powerfully with correct reach and drive, correct coat, colour, and texture, a little narrow in rear. DCC& BIS. 2nd Cullen’s CH Philoma One Night Only, medium sized male, head fits to body, correct length of neck, straight back, correct croup, tail set and tail, chest proportions according to body, fits very well together, correct depth of chest, a fluent mover, correct black colour, medium texture, friendly behaviour, a bit open ear carriage.

VD: 1. 1st Woodgate’s Dasval Good And Ready, 7-year-old male in best condition, medium size, correct expression, correct topline, correct width and depth of chest, clear eyes, full dentition, moderate angulations, good parallel movement, friendly behaviour, correct black colour. BVD & BVIB
