Thank you to the Giant Schnauzer Club for inviting me to judge at their Open Show. Having
originally accepted the appointment in 2019 for 2021. I was grateful to have been given the
opportunity to fulfil my appointment even if Covid-19 delayed things. I was fortunate to have two
very capable stewards in Mr and Mrs McGrann who, as always, ensured the smooth running of
the ring which certainly made my assignment easier. Thank you to all who entered and accepting
my placings in good spirit.
In both sizes I was looking for a robust dog, with a harsh wiry coat, who was nearly square,
possessed that typical Schnauzer expression and was free moving. I was please to find many
who met my interpretation of the breed standard.

Class a: Baby Puppy Dog (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1. PARKER’S Draxpark Face The Chaser, 4 month old, who was really enjoying his first experience
of the show ring. Typical in outline, with a good front assembly, excellent head proportions and a
keen dark eye, everything in the right place for this age, moved well in all directions. BBPIB

Class: 1 Minor Puppy Dog (Entries 1) Abs: 0
1. CULLEN’S Sir Constantine De Barba Negra at Philoma (Imp FCA) eye-catching youngster who
presents an impressive, clean outline, being nearly square and so well balanced fore and aft,
correct head proportions and excellent strength to muzzle, moderately arched neck, well laid
shoulders, good return of upper arm, with good fill in front, well off for bone, short coupled, tail set
bang on, moves freely in all directions and never stood wrong. Out of a different mould to my
other winners but he is so well made. RBD, BPIB
Class: 2 Puppy Dog (Entries 1) Abs: 0

1. MCABE’S Dayshaun Total Eclipse; exuberant puppy who would benefit from additional
schooling, when settled he presented a typical outline, he has a super head, with a mischievous
correctly shaped dark eye, moderate neck, deep ribs carried well back and a moderate rear. A
powerful dog on the move when settled, but would prefer a cleaner action behind.

Class: 5 Limit Dog (Entries 1) Abs:0

1. ADAMSON’S Here Comes Trouble Radinie to Borderstorm (Imp CZE) 3 year old dog who ticked
all the boxes for me, moderate, square and moved with good reach and drive. Excellent
proportioned head, strong muzzle and parallel planes, correct eye, excellent depth and width to
his front, with a wonderful return of upper arm, Topped off with a harsh jacket and correct
furnishings. In the challenge for best of breed he couldn’t match the bitches movement, but none
the less an impressive exhibit. BD & RBOB

Class b: Baby Puppy Bitch (Entries 1) Abs: 0
1. PARKER’S Draxpark Celebrity Chase, litter sister to the Baby Puppy Dog and later found they
are out of the BOB. Like her brother she is so typical in outline, possesses a very feminine head,
developing well in front, has a harsh jacket and correct tail set, moved confidently in all directions.

Class: 9 Minor Puppy Bitch (Entries 3) Abs:0
1. PARKER’S Draxpark Crown Jewel, 2. STAPLES’ Riesenheim Over The Moon for Ruffhaus, I was
splitting hairs with these two bitches, they are both very typical in outline, have a feminine
outlook, excellent front assemblies, the correct height to length ratios, balanced rear angulation,
which really showed on the move. I’m sure they will swap places many times as they work their
way through the classes, but today I felt 1 held her top line a little better on the move and was
tidier in front when standing. 3. PARTNER’S Draxpark Crowning Glory

Class: 10 Puppy Bitch (Entries 1) Abs:0
1. FISH & MOSS’ Riesenheim Moon River another 6 month bitch, who is litter sister to 2nd in
MPB. Like her sister she is correctly proportioned and has a typical outline that shouts Schnauzer.
She has a correct lay of shoulder which gives her the most wonderful transition from her
moderately long arched neck into her correctly sloping top line. She excels on the move, holding
her top line and moving well in all directions. Presented in a harsh jacket and furnishings. In the
challenge for BP it was a close call but preferred the BPD’s fill and depth of chest. RBB, BPB.

1. VEEL’S Ch Philoma American In Paris, Attractive 4 year old bitch, who is so eye catching both
on the move and when standing, feminine head and using her ears well, okay in front, excellent
bone and neat feet, held her sloping top line on the move, powered around the ring, handled to
advantage.
2. STAPLES’ Ch Ferncliffe Pistols At Dawn for Ruffhaus, this 9 year old bitch can certainly hold
her own amongst the youngsters. Correct proportions and strength to her head, but preferred the
eye of 1. Being fully mature she has a well developed front, excellent bone, straight forelegs, deep
ribs carried well back into a short loin, and a moderately angled rear. she is an easy mover in
profile, with good reach and drive, age giving a little away in rear when compared to 1. 3. CLAY’S
Philoma Lucia

Class: 15 Special Open Bitch (Pepper & Salt) (Entries 0) Abs:0

Class: 16 Veteran Bitch (Entries 2) Abs:1
1. PARKER’S Ch Daserbe Chase The Ace To Draxpark 8 year old bitch who really pulled out all of
the stops today, she has a typey outline and really powers around the ring. Correct head and eye
and uses her ears to advantage. Moderately arched neck into correct lay of shoulder with a super
return of upper arm, deep ribs that are carried well back, moves well in all directions. A real show
girl, she came into both challenges and could not be overlooked. BB and BOB

Class: 17 Puppy Dog (Entries 2) Abs:0
1. LOCKYER’S Xavier Pepper Grand Calvera at Miccosukees (NAF TAF) What a way to start
judging of this size, this 7 month old puppy totally captivated me, he is everything I was looking
for in a Schnauzer, he has the most wonderful head, dark eye and neat v shaped ears, good fill in
front, correct lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, deep ribs which are carried well back into a
short loin. Wonderful tail set and carriage. Harsh well presented jacket. He’s such a steady mover
for a young puppy, with straight reaching forelegs and a driving rear action. I couldn’t look passed
him in the challenge for Best Dog. BD, BPIB
2. LOCKYER’S Miccosukees Oklahoma attractive 6 month D, correct length of head but a little
too broad in backskull for me. Developing nicely in front, with well sprung ribs, carried well back,
correct coat texture, tail set on correctly, if carried a little tight. A happy showman who moved out
well.

Class: 18 Junior Dog (Entries 0) Abs:0

Class: 19 Post Graduate Dog (Entries 1) Abs:0
1. LOCKER’S Miccosukees Look At Me; Another from this kennel who is so typical. A well made
dog with good bone, masculine head, ok in eye and ear set. Liked his depth and length of rib.
Shown in good condition with correct harsh jacket. Moved well.

Class: 20 Open Dog (Entries 2) Abs:1
1. BOULTON & VAN OOSTEN’S Boujan’s Just Amazing; Rising 3 year old, who is well balanced
when stood in profile, typical in head and body, when I sent him around the ring in profile I thought
he could be the one to beat, but not moving as cleanly behind as I would have liked today.

Class: 21 Veteran Dog (Entries1 ) Abs: 0
1. BAWDEN & BROWN’S Ch Khanate Gin Fizz ShCM This 12 year old male is the ultimate
showman and certainly knows his job. He presents such a striking outline, the best of heads and
typical expression, reachy neck into well laid shoulders and developed forequarters, short
coupled with a nicely angled rear. He moves with good reach and drive, but found him to be not
as wide in rear as my puppy winner when moving away from me. RBD, BVD

Class: d Baby Puppy Bitch (Entries 1) Abs:0
1. MAIDEN’S Maidluns Love Again 4 month old who was taking her first show in her stride,
feminine head, dark eye and correct ears, good bone, developing in body, correct tail and tail set,
moved out confidently for a baby, topped off with the harshest of jackets. BBPIB

Class: 22 Puppy Bitch (Entries 3) Abs:2
1. WAWRZENIEC Wyggyfuzz Arete Promising puppy with a good head and typical expression.
Liked her top line and length of neck which lead into well placed shoulders. Harsh banded jacket.
Good rear assembly which is nicely balanced with her front. Took a little while to settle on the
move but when she composed herself she moved well in all direction. BPB

Class’s: 23 Junior Bitch (Entries 2) Abs:0
1. WALKER’S Kathalan Black Widow, a modest black bitch who needs to be handled to be
appreciated. She has a feminine head, with the neatest of ears, moderate neck, more than
enough fore chest, deep ribs and is short coupled. She is a steady mover in all directions.
2. LOCKYER’S Miccosukees Love Heart, smart ps bitch who possess many of the same qualities
as 1, I liked her well proportioned head, but not as neat in ear as 1. Moderate angles fore and aft,
moves with reach and drive, not the top line of 1 which cost her the class today.

Class: 24 Post Graduate Bitch (Entries 2) Abs:1
1. BRADSHAW’S Kaiteriteri Hijinx A well made bitch with good bone, feminine head, correct eye
and ear set. Shown in good condition with correct harsh jacket. Moved well.

Class: 25 Open Bitch (Entries 8) Abs:4
1. WATSON’S Ch Miccosukees Guess Who at Jalero; Lovely typey bitch with so much to offer.
She is compact and robust. Correct angles front and rear. Firm top line which she holds on the
move, Free flowing movement and effortlessly made in around the ring. Would have liked her to
carry her tail higher which cost her further honours today.
2. BAWDEN & BROWN’S Ch Amigris Ain’t Misbehaven at Khanate; Darker p/s who was
unfortunate to meet 1 today, she is almost square in outline and has a refined head, moderately
proportioned throughout and moved well. Preferred the overall balance of 1. 3. FLETCHER’S
Fivepits The Companion Set

Class: 26 Veteran Bitch (Entries 2) Abs:0
1. BOULTON & VAN OOSTEN’S UK/INT/SWE Ch Boujan Independent Climax; What a class act
this 10 year old bitch is. I was immediately drawn to her balanced outline, brick shaped head with
correct planes and dark eye. Her shoulders are well laid back into a sloping top line down to a
correctly set tail, moderately broad chest and a wonderful spring of rib. On her toes at all times,
when asked to move she demonstrated the reach and drive I was looking for. She couldn’t be
denied BB, BOB and BVIB.
2. FLETCHER’S Fivepits The Detonator; Just turned 8, A very moderate bitch all through, with a
good head , eye and expression. Correct top line and length of neck leading into well placed
shoulders. Lovely banded harsh jacket. Good rear assembly. Moved well but unlucky to meet 1
who was on top form.

Baby Puppy Dog
1st Davidson’s Wot A Mix
A lovely 5 month old pepper and salt male. A classic outline, very compact and lovely to watch on the stack. A clean head and front assembly, with correct keen expression, clearly masculine but not overdone. Correct banded coat, strong black pigment, good ear et, topline and tail set. A little shy today, and gave his handler a hard time, but a lovely young lad. Lots to come from him I expect.

Puppy Dog
1st Gudgin and Campbell’s Arkangath Hellcat with Jennayr
A very well built 8 month old male, who was very positive on the move with lovely reach and drive. he is in cracking condition, and was handled to perfection, despite his very exuberant personality! He has a masculine head with a melting expression. He flew his ears at times today but the set is correct and he uses them well when paying attention. he has good angles fore and aft, and his coat is harsh and tight. He’s a real showman with a great future. Best Puppy Dog, Reserve Best Dog.

2nd Moorcroft’s Amorevita Uranus
9 month old black, whi is exactly what you would expect from this kennel – well built, smart and a delight on the move when he gets going. He is well put together, with a harsh black jacket, a masculine head with correct almond eyes, neat v shaped ears, a good lay of shoulder and sloping topline leading to a good tail set and carriage. He has balanced angles and will have a good future i am sure. he lcked the showmanship of 1 today, but his time will come.

Junior Dog
1st Atterbury’s Wlanimu’s Empire Is Ukraine (Imp).
12 month black and silver male, with a hard jacket. Not the most confident today, but moved well in profile. Going away, he is somewhat wide in the rear but he has a good topline and tailset. He has a nice head, with dark eyes and neat ears that drop forward.

Post Gradaute Dog
1st Moorcroft’s Tammux Elementary Watson
2 year old black and silver male, who was not thrilled about being in the ring today! He stands and moves nicely, but he is a little lose at elbow. He is upright in the shoulder, which limits his reach on the move. he has a good harsh jacket, and while he is a little tall, he is in proportion.

Open Dog
1st Descare’s Dorado Tyras Akvamarinas at Amorevita (Imp)
Well this male absolutely stood out in both this class and the line up. he is just gorgeous, so well built, with a classic outline. He is masculine but is not overdone. Strong head, with a good lay of shoulder. He has a keen expression and lovely neat ears framing his face. He has a correct topline and tailset. Good depth of chest, and has plenty of substance without being heavy. Handled to advantage and he is in superb condition. An easy decision for Best Dog and Best of Breed, and I was delighted to see him take BIS at the end of the day.

2nd Partner’s Soletrader Mad Max at Onfleek
2 year old pepper and salt male, who is up to size but in proportion throughout. He is smooth on the move, with good reach and drive. He is not quite as strong in the head as 1, but he has that classic mini expression of keenness, with neat v shaped ears. He has a good forechest and lay of shoulder. He looks the picture stood as he is balanced at both ends, and he has a lovely hard coat.

Baby Puppy Bitch
1st Davidson’s Wellingley Wot A Tease
Litter sister to the Baby Puppy Dog, this little sweetheart was full of mischief. She had a beautiful feminine head and expression, and I suspect will get away with murder with that face! She is compact, with lovely balanced angles fore and aft. She has a correct banded coat and good pigment. she is well put together, with good bone, striking a lovely balance between dainty and substance. She has a perfect topline and tailset and is a very neat little package. She showed such joy on the move, she was clearly having a ball, and when she did keep her feet on the floor, she showed reach and drive. She’ll be one to watch. Best Baby Puppy.

Puppy Bitch
1st Violis Poetic Haiku
8 months pepper and salt bitch. Fine boned throughout and light on her feet. she moves well, but could benefit from a little more angulation at the front, as she lacks a little in the forechest. She looks the part stood and on the move, she has a lovely clean outline. She has a good topline and tailset, and has lovely rear angles. While she does not have substance at present, she is well put together and has a good depth of chest, and a tight, harsh, banded jacket. Feminine head and and a gentle expression. She’s another one to watch as she has a real air about her. She just pipped the male puppy in the challenge to take Best Puppy. Best Puppy and Reserve Best Bitch

2nd Descare’s Amorevita Zaria
7 month black bitch, a daughter of the Best of Breed winner. Lots to come from this little one I think, she is feminine throughout, and has the most melting expression. Similar to her father, she has a lovely head with correct almond eyes and neat v shaped ears. She has a good forechest, and good front assembly, which is instantly obvious on the move. She wasn’t as dainty as 1, but this does not detract from her femininity. She has tight elbows with a good depth of chest. Her coat is hard and tight to her well conditioned frame. She was just beaten to the top spot in this class by the profile and attitude of 1.

Junior Bitch
1 Butler’s Brown Sugar Lady for Devorasjoy
13 month pepper and salt bitch. a lovely expression, with correct almond eyes. She has a slightly masculine head, but good ears. She has a lovely banded coat and beautiful furnishings. She could benefit from a slightly better layback of shoulder, but has good rear angles and drives well from behind on the move. She has good bone and substance, a deep chest, tight elbows, a correct topline and tailset.

Post Graduate Bitch
1st Longdin’s Wellingley Won Step Ahead
Another beauty from this kennel, she is ladylike but shows strength and a lovely positive movement. She is compact, with tight elbows and good angles fore and aft. She has a lovely head with a gentle expression, correct, neat v shaped ears, and almond eyes. Sloping topline, with a correct tailset and a lovely harsh jacket. She is in great condition, and showed herself to perfection in the class. Best Bitch, Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd Partner’s Onfleek Twinkle Tips
Another lovely pepper and salt bitch, slightly taller than 1. She had a good head, not too dainty, and a sweet expression. She has dark almond eyes and is well put together. She has a good shoulder and forechest, and a topline leading to the correct tailset. She is an easy mover, light on her feet. She has a harsh coat and was very well presented.
